Xcom original, new one is good as well
Fallout all of them cept tactics
Mount and blade specially the PoP mod

I dont have much time anymore outside what I put into gw2. I have dishonoured but havent even tried it yet. I was messing around with a steam greenlight game called Kenshi which is an open world squad based game but is in pretty early alpha I would still recommend it.

GW2 soaks up most of my free time lately. But I'm a huge fan of the Civilization series and play that when I'm jonesin for some strategy / empire building.

I was always partial to Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics. I haven't played much of the newer generation.

Diablo was great, III was a pretty big let down for me. I enjoyed COD up until the last two iterations... BF 1942, BF2 and BF 2142 were amazing.

I'm old school in my gaming...

My favorites would have to be the original Ultima series starting with U3 and ending with U9.  I enjoyed Ultima Online for a while but the punishment for failure was very high when you got ganked.

 If you don't know the Ultima series, then you are probably under 30 :).

Lastly the Wing Commander games (Chris Roberts ftw).  Another game showing my old age.  I'm secretly waiting for the Star Citizen game -- I hope it's epic.
