It's patch day for Landmark, and it's a doozie. Caves, Swimming, underground resource detection, plant harvesting makeover and tweaks to potions/trees were all in store. You can check out the patch notes here.
Oh, and this sweet Cave Intro video was released!

Just so everyone knows, with underground resource detection hotfix the other day, it pretty much made the game unplayable when using the detectors (crashes). Although the game suffers from some bugs and a memory leak which eats through about 3-6 GB before making the game virtually unplayable, it is seriously awesome sauce and I recommend everyone who has the RECOMMENDED (NOT REQUIRED) system specs to try it out.

It is a pretty slick and fantastic world builder / explorer. And will only expand over time!

Agreed. I think the main memory leaks are involving the VoxelFarm engine. Hopefully, they'll iron everything out over the next few weeks. Every time they add a feature, I try to wait for a week or so before logging in so they can work out the bugs but I've been waiting for so long for caves I had to jump on it. The Ground Thumper and Scanner are cool tools that worked when they released them. The next day they released a hotfix and now I crash every time I use them. Either way, that's the way closed betas work. New features = crashes galore until they work out the bugs.

Yeah, with it being in development and in closed beta I'm pretty forgiving about bugs and feature additions.
As long as you can be patient when things don't work quite right it's absolutely worth it.

LoL. They hyped it up because of how much the beta testers have been begging for it. It's significant in a way, when compared to Minecraft's cave system, because it's all procedurally generated like Minecraft's caves only it doesn't look like hammered shit. The crystal and forest caves are amazing to look at. The desert caves are kinda blah, but that's probably because I've spent so much time in the desert in Landmark. The cave systems are kinda cool though and they look like something the Fremen from Frank Herbert's Dune would hide out in.
I'm actually more anxious to see lava biomes, salvaging for crafting, and additional claim space (currently 5 claims per realm). I'm not really interested in PvP for this game nor am I interested in combat. The game looks too pretty, to be honest, to dick around with combat but PvE content is coming.

I need to revisit and maybe expand on my back porch as it is lacking a house. Vin are we still neighbors?

Nope, there was a wipe and I don't think you've played since it went from Alpha to Closed Beta. You have to build a claim flag these days, make a claim, and then upkeep it to keep it from disappearing.

Tal, if you guys need anything just tell me what your character names are and I can go to your shard and craft shit for you lol. I've got legendary everything in that game man (which isn't much of an accomplishment believe me).
