If there's one thing I know about the Homefront series it's that you either liked the remake of the movie Red Dawn or you didn't...
If you're not familiar with the Homefront series the basic premise is that North Korea invades the US and you are a Freedom Fighter fighting for your family and home.
The first title got sub par reviews and scored a 5.6 in User Reviews on MetaCritic. Some friends I know that played said it was ok, an arcade type shooter that they expected more from and felt fall short but didn't feel it was the dregs of FPS's...
When THQ went bankrupt the Homefront IP was bought up by Crytek UK, once know as Free Radical. They were responsible for the Timesplitters series and Haze if anyone is familiar. So the IP seems to be in good hands. Homefront: The Revolution will be set in Philadelphia and will feature a more open world game play concept where you are a guerilla fighter trying to overthrow the Korean People's Army. Check out the announcement video, might actually be worth playing...

This is about as far as I get in the description of this game before I can't stop laughing...

Ken,
That's about as far as I made it in the new Red Dawn as well. North Korea? Those guys weigh like 35 pounds. Imagine a feather parachuting into one of the most unpredictable wind currents on earth lol.

Beat me too it!
Doesn't look particularly awesome, same ol' same ol' kinda vibe going on. The success of this game is going to depend 100% on the atmosphere they can create and how they script events.

Looks like Metro 2033 at the beginning. It might be good. I liked the original Red Dawn, but the new one was just too hard to suspend disbelief.
The CryTek engine has wayyyy more potential than this video is showing though so hopefully they'll tweak it a bit.
