Guild Emblem Update
Speak - Dethroat
We were changing the emblem for a few reasons. One was that we had a lot of new people in the guild, second was that we started anew on a new server and felt like it was time for a change and the third was that a few other guilds on the server had the same emblem! Det provided a link to the poll and encouraged everyone to go vote!
Recruitment
Speaker - Viper
We recruit based on quality and not quantity and we recruit to build a community. Having great people that we like playing with is more important than having superior numbers. The key to having these people join us is playing with them. The best thing we can do is play with people, and get them to join us in Mumble. Advertise when we're running on a map and invite people to join us, and generally just be awesome. Then when we've played with them for a bit if we think they'd be a good fit direct them to the website to apply!
It also helps to bump the recruitment thread on www.forthetoast.com
We also spoke of a recent departure. Namsung left the guild. We didn't go into depth over it, but there was a difference of opinions, and the charter made the guilds position pretty clear so we parted ways. If anyone had any specific questions they can be directed to Vin or Viper as they were involved.
Also Madness will be stepping into a Friend of War role. He still loves the guild and everyone in it but we don't really sPvP on a regular basis. He's got very limited time and feels like sPvP is a better road for him, he'll be joining a guild that has some sPvPer's and doing that with them with his limited time. When he is able to play longer and more dedicated WvW don't be surprised to see him repping WAR and running along with us still.
World vs. World
Speaker - Vincynt
Another successful month under our belt. Friday the 25th of October we were going against SoR and BG. At the reset meeting on the 24th it was generally felt like SoR would be the harder server. The more difficult nut to crack, and the harder 1/3rd to hold. Our little group of TSF, NAGA, ESP and WAR was referred too as the best force TC wields at the moment. Everyone generally felt like our group of four would have the best chance of dealing with SoR decisively and were asked to take their BL. I wanted to share that compliment with all of you because it's EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU that take the guild, and our group to that level. You all do a great job, keep kicking ass, and we'll keep droppin bags!
Tuesday and Friday are our scheduled nights for WvW. As such there are events up on the Calendar those nights. It would be a tremendous help if people planning on coming out out would sign up. There's a quick run down on how to sign up under Guild Info. If you need more help see Vin. Signing up allows us to quickly build groups and waste less time.
Along that lines we'll be asking people to lead groups. Generally they'll be Officers, but could be non-officers as well. As a member of a group you're expected to run with the group leader. This is for a couple of reasons. The main one, and most important one, being that the group that runs together lives together. Being all spread out will get us picked off. Another reason is if we ever do go open field, and believe me it's been talked about at Reset Meetings (we're one of the larger guilds now believe it or not, and have a good reputation) we need to get used to being together.
We did a training last Thursday which went over very well. It was pretty basic stuff and in the near future you'll see more advanced training happening. Come out when it's hosted and learn some cool stuff!
If you have some specific questions about WvW and can't make it to a training, OR want some one on one time with someone, or learn how to command a little better hit Vin up. Either via PM on the site, in game mail, or just bug him when he's on.
Upcoming Events on the Web Site

Vin again covered the importance of signing up. It really helps us set up groups quickly, and easily. Take some time, sign up, lets rock some socks in WvW!
Mumble Channel Changes
Speaker - Tal
Some recent changes were made to Mumble. Most notably the "Private Channels" were removed. It was brought to our attention that labeling them as such and having peoples names in them made some people feel unwelcome in them. We're a community first and foremost and everyone is welcome in every channel with the exception of the Officer's Lobby. So they were renamed (with an AWESOME 80's theme) to reflect the general purpose of the channel. If however you just want somewhere to chill other than the lobby, try to pick the channel that most aptly describes what you're doing, if nothing really does (like say you're playing something other than GW2, or watching a show but still want to be around) just pick an unpopulated one. No big deal.
Lottery
Speaker - Dethroat
Use the link on the left hand side of the page with the Power Balls! You can enter UP TO four times, for 50 silver per entry. For each entry you have to fill out the form once (so four entries for 2g means you have to fill out the form four times). You can purchase tickets from the last Thursday of the month (so the day after the General Meeting) up until the General Meeting the following month. Purchase them all at once, or one a week, it's all up to you.
If you win you get half of the pot for that month, the other half stays with the guild to help pay for awesome prizes for events we run as well as help cover WvW costs (it costs almost 5g to do all the upgrades for a keep on reset night).
Featured [WAR]rior
Speaker - Tal
The Featured [WAR]rior is a way we can all show appreciation for someone we feel has gone above and beyond being just a guild mate. If you know someone who's been super helpful, awesome, put in a lot of times and effort and generally displays some badassery nominate them with the FT War Link on the left of the website!
The selection is done by the Ft Warrior committee (Tal, Rose and Dale) and the winner gets a special forum icon and bragging rights. We do a little interview with the winner so you can get to know your guild mates better. So don't forget to nominate someone today for December!
